Vocal Tuning & Editing
Before your vocal goes to mix, I'll edit and pitch correct it by ear: declicking, depopping, denoising and comping, so it sits in tune and reads clean.
A 2-track reference of the instrumental is required with every vocal, so I can hear how the tuning and edits sit against the track, not just in isolation.
Clean, tuned and comped, ready for mix.
- Pitch correction, tuned by ear to sit naturally with the track
- Comping, the best of your takes pulled into one clean performance
- Declicking, depopping and denoising
- Optional suggested FX for the vocal, send a reference and I'll include suggestions with the edit
From raw takes to a mix ready vocal.
Common questions.
Why do you need a reference of the instrumental?
Tuning and comping a vocal in isolation can sound right on its own but off once it's back against the track. A 2-track reference lets me make every decision with the full picture, not just the vocal.
Can you suggest FX for my vocal?
Yes, this is optional. Send a reference track alongside your vocal and instrumental, and I'll include suggested FX direction with the edit.
What file format should my vocal takes be in?
WAV files, 24-bit where possible, at your session's original sample rate. Send every take you want considered, comping is included.
How long does it take?
Turnaround is usually a few days from when I receive everything, and I'll confirm a date with you when we book your session.
Are revisions included?
Yes, a round of revisions is included, so we can fine tune anything that's not quite right before it's finished.
